  • oh how cute! Love your model!

I have a big bag just like this that I made years ago in 1999? or maybe 2000? The class was called Fat Quarter Bag.

It really REALLY R*E*A*L*L*Y is BIG! And to prove it – here is where I blogged about it holding my 3 year old twins: http://bingobonnie.blogspot.com/2010/07/more-about-my-ugly-bag-made-of-fqs.html

Many quilters love it b/c it will easily hold even a King Sized quilt to tote around for working on binding…. however I would have la,la,loved to have had one to carry laundry to and from the dorm when I was in college. I think that would be a great target for marketing! Perfect gift for the graduate going off to college…

Good luck with your new pattern!

    Love from Texas! ~bonnie

Hi Bonnie, my mom has a fat quarter bag that is at least 10 years old. I had to laugh when I saw your bag, because my moms is very similar in colors and fabrics. The style of my mom’s old bag was definitely the inspiration for my Night Owl Bag… I think mine is even slightly bigger, but it’s hard to tell, because my mom’s has been washed more than few times. I never thought of using it to carry laundry to the laundry mat, what a fantastic idea! It would be fun to have a larger pocket that could hold detergent. cheers, Calli

I don’t suppose you made the hat that your daughter is wearing?? I love the bag…and the hat:)
    thanks, Renee

  • Dj:

Do you have instructions for using fat quarters?

    • Calli:

I don’t have instructions, but you can certainly use fat quarters. To make them work, you just need to make sure the finished measurement of the main body of the bag is the same as the main body specified in the pattern. I hope that makes sense. If you’ve purchased the pattern and need help with the calculations, let me know and I’d be happy to help.

  • Dj:

Yes! Help! Please!!! I would really appreciate help with the calculations. I have already purchased the pattern.
