I usually just use q-tips to clean my ears, but you’ve inspired me to start using them to clean hard to reach spots!

  • Anita:

I use one every day to clean my ears, so the traditional use is my favorite way to use them. Okay one my fingers are crossed.

  • Lynn:

I use them for touch ups when doing my nails.

  • I used them for many things, the tradition ear cleaning is always good, but I love dipping them in a a little eye makeup remover to touch up my eyeliner or any mascara smudges.

  • Tamara:

I use them to clean my ears, clean around the faucet, clean nail polish off the edges of my nails, clean the crevices of the dashboard of my car… need I go on! :)

I clean dvds with them. and my ears!

  • Jenn:

So many things. Cleaning small areas, painting, cleaning my ears of course, applying cream medicine medicine, sometimes removing darker nail polish from my daughters nails.

  • joanne:

I use them to clean ears, nail polish off the skin around the nails, in the air conditioner grates and hard to clean small areas, applying cream medications. they are so useful!

  • Sheila Laurence:

They are a must after the shower, because I can’t stand water in my ears. I also use them to fix eye makeup mistakes.

  • Just about like everyone else, I use Q-tips for my ears. But, I use them also to clean up eye makeup.
    xoxo
    Joy

  • To apply my eye makeup. They’re perfect for smudging and applying eyeshadow as eyeliner.

  • Merri:

I couldn’t do without them for my ears every morning! I also use them for cleaning and painting.

  • LeeH:

I love The Container Store and $50 would make it worth the trip as it’s a good drive for me. Just put new shelves in my laundry and could use some organizational boxes etc that match

  • Maria S:

I like to clean around the buttons of our tv remote control…works great!!

  • I keep Qtips in my sewing room and use them to clean the fuzz and lint out of the bobbin area.

  • Mostly for cleaning my ears but also for our keyboards!

  • Laurin:

Not to be gross, but the original use of cleaning out ear wax is how I usually use them. Boy do my ears make a lot of wax!

  • Michelle:

I use them for ears too! And fingernail polish touch ups when soaked in polish remover.

  • I use Qtips to reach those dust bunnies in corners of furniture.

  • Jackie k.:

This is going to sound pretty silly: my new use for Q-Tips is on my 6 month old daughter. She is the sweetest, pudgiest little thing. I use Q-Tips to put aquaphor in those little rolls to keep her skin from getting irritated.

  • Liz J:

I use q-tops to clean around the hinges on the toilet seat and mascara under my eyes.. That sounds kind of gross.. Don’t worry I always use fresh ones on me.

  • M.J.:

Q-tips are great for cleaning off mascara that ends up on eyelids after application. Also for applying hydrogen peroxide to small cuts/scrapes. Or applying acne medication on blemishes.

  • Jessica:

I clean the vents in the care and the cracks in the keyboard. We also use them in arts and crafts.

  • Rae:

I use them for make-up application and removal, ears, sewing machine, computer, various things all over my house. Very useful!

  • Danielle:

We’re fastidious about our ear cleanliness around here and only Q-tip brand swabs will do for at “eargasm”!

  • Karin S.:

I use Q-Tips in the traditional hygene and make-up removal ways and to clean my electronic equipment. They are the best for some keyboard cleaning. Great for cleaning cell phone keyboards and pads too.

  • When I am repairing something broken, I like to use Q-tips for gluing the small pieces together.

  • Heidi:

Besides cleaning ears, we also use them on the little kids to get gross boogers out of their nose that won’t come out with the suction bulbs. Gross I know, but effective and more sanitary than Mom’s pinky. They are also good for shoe shining.

  • Kathleen:

My favorite way to use q-tips is for craft project for my little kids. It it an easy, inexpensive way for them to paint!

  • Liz Tuggle:

I like to use q-tips to clean my keyboard…..gets the dust out in the hard places to get to…

  • Sue:

I use them to clean my computer keyboard

  • Anne Marie:

I use them to clean between the grills on the microwave – these grills are dust collectors!

  • Jennifer A.:

So many great ideas! I use them in the traditional way, too, but also they are great for getting into small areas like the track of the shower doors! Love your site!

  • Kari:

We use them all the time around here. Mostly for ear cleaning, but also for cleaning small hard to reach places, first aid, nail polish touch up… I’m sure the list could go on.

  • Kathie:

I use Q-Tips for cleaning my computer.

  • My absolute favorite thing is (don’t gag) to clean out my ears after my shower. I know, gross. Sorry. But I love that “clean ears” feeling.

But I also love using them for my sewing machine, my nails, little hard to reach corners … awesome.

  • My poor little Westie has an eye condition and her eyes need to be cleaned and medicated three times a day. Q Tips have been invaluable for this. They’re soft, so they don’t irritate her skin. I love them and I love the Container Store too! I hope I win!

  • LeAnne:

I use them to get those mascara dots and smudges that are always around my eye after I put on my make-up! I need a steadier hand. :)

  • Mickelle Anderson:

I love Q-Tips! I seriously can’t go a day without using them for something. I most commonly use them to clean my ears after I take a shower. I can’t stand the feeling of having water in my ears. I also use them at night and in the morning to remove the mascara flasks and residue underneath my eyes. The skin under your eyes is so sensitive! Q-Tips are soft and make it easy to remove the left of mascara without irritating the skin or hitting your eye. I also use them when I paint my toe-nails. If I can some nail polish on my skin, I dip a Q-Tip into some nail polish remover and swipe it off. I can’t travel without Q-Tips! I have a small carrying case that I bring with me on every trip I go on. They are great for cleaning small crevasses and for applying ointments or creams onto scrapes. This might sound a little out there, but if I was stranded on a desert island, the one thing I would have to have is a box of Q-Tips!

  • Carol M:

I use them to clean my ears and for years I’ve used them as small paint brushes in my preschool classroom. The kids loved them and it was a quick clean up.

  • Rose:

Wonderful for cleaning my cats ears!

  • Sue:

I use Q-tips to clean those hard to reach areas in the bathroom. Hope I win!!

  • Corrie:

I personally use them for fixing makeup smudges but they also are used in my classroom for dipping glue or paint!

  • Kimberly:

I use q-tips to remove eye make up. This uses less cleanser than a whole wash cloth and I can just throw it out when I’m done.

  • I use them to clean out my puppy’s ears!

  • S Manning:

I use Qtips to adjust my eyeliner after I put it on. I go thru at least 3, when I wear make up. Which doesnt happen everyday, but at least a couple times a week. I always have Qtips in my make up purse!

  • Lizzy Smith:

I use them to clean those hard to reach places on the hinges of toilet seats.

  • Leanne:

I use Qtips for my ears, my kids ears, makeup, and also for taking off fingernail polish on toes.

  • Lori:

My son uses the majority of our Qtips to detail his model cars. And he doesn’t just use one or two – it’s usually about 20 Qtips per car!! :)

  • Dana:

My grandchildren love to paint and craft and of course you can never have enough Qtips for their little projects.

  • Gretchen:

I just used Q-tips last night to (sadly) clean a scrape on my daughter’s knee.

  • Nicole:

My new favorite way to use them is one you just posted about – cleaning off battery residue. Genius! My other favorite is to just give them kids a handful when I really need to get something done and see what they come up with – q-tips + construction paper + tape/glue = happy kids = happy mom.

  • My favorite way to use Q-tips is doing my nails and my daughters when we get out of the lines. :)
I have also used them to clean the vents in my car when I reeeeeally clean it.
And, I bet I could find a wonderful container at the Container Store to put mine in if I win. :)

  • Rebecca:

We paint with them, detailed cleaning, ears, make up, nail polish, & first aid.

  • Lynne Schoenborn:

  • Megan T.:

When I try to paint my own fingernails-to clean the smudges!

  • I use several every day, to get the water out of my ears after a shower and to get the mascara off my eyes after I wash my face. I have the safety kind for the kids’ ears. Love them!

  • Stephanie:

I use them almost daily to fix minor make up mishaps. Nothing can clean up errant mascara like a q-tip.

  • GG:

I find a Q-Tip works great to remove eye make-up under my lower lashes.

  • missy:

Our family’s immune systems have gone through the ringer these past couple of months….therefore so have our humidifiers. It is amazing to me what can collect in the tiniest corners of these helpful little mist-makers! So my new favorite way to use Q-tips (one of many) to clean is to get all the gunk out of the littlest crevices in my humidifiers. At least then I am not adding to the breathing issues! Thanks Q-tips!

  • Emma:

I use them to clean the cracks and crevices of the patio door track and when I window clean – cleaning theinner window tracks and frame.

  • Heather:

All of the above! Makeup, cleaning, applying medication. They are great for vents in your car…

  • Caroline:

I use them to clean my ears, but it looks like they have a lot more uses than I would have thought

  • Lynn Osborne:

I use q-tips to clean up my manicure boo-boo’s.

  • Michelle C:

I love using Q-Tips for make-up touch ups. Thanks for the chance to win!
    mrsmchappell at gmail dot com

  • Shelley:

I use them to clean my ears and to remove pesky eyeliner under my eyes that the washcloth and cotton ball misses!

  • Claudia:

I wet one end under the faucet, then squeeze and twirl it between my fingers until it makes a point. The perfect tool to clean up mistakes when applying mascara.

  • kabby:

Q-tips are my go to! When nothing else works I reach for the Q-tips.

  • We clean our ears after showers with them, I use them in painting with my toddler and cleaning.

  • Shaun:

I use Q-Tips for two very different things. I use them for cleaning around the bobbin casing of my sewing machine and for removing mascara smudges.

  • Heidi:

I mostly just use them to clean my ears.

  • I use them when I do my nails!

  • Dayna:

I use them to clean the little hard-to-reach areas of my eyeglasses and almost everything else!

  • Andrea:

I’m always bumping myself with the mascara wand and leaving a smudgy mess on my nose! I use Q-Tips to get it off.

  • Brianna:

Besides the obvious use that everyone has mentioned (ears) I have two main uses for Q-tips. It is the BEST way to get rid of my eye makeup, especially the eyeliner I put on my lower lash line. I just put a dab of moisturizer on a Q-tip, and it seriously works magic.

The other one is really random. I wear contact lenses and the case for my contact lenses can have gunk build up. Q-tips are the best because they can actually get into the small grooves and clean it all off. This is SUPER important as I definitely do not want gross things going in my eyes with my contact lenses!

  • Brianna:

Oh, I forgot! There’s one more use – painting my nails. If I get any nail polish on my cuticles or the skin around the nail, I just dab the Q-tip with a little nail polish remover and use it to target those spots. It comes right off and leaves you with a beautiful manicure!

  • Fran Daoust:

The old way I use q-tips is to dry the insides of my ears. The new way I use q-tips is to clean the lint out of my sewing machine.

  • I use q-tips to clean my boston terriers “bat” ears!

  • I use qtips for cleaning around the bathroom sinks, it has a funky groove that is hard to get clean. I NEVER use them in my ears and won’t let anyone in my house do so, my audiology background shudders when I hear of it! Never put anything bigger than your elbow in your ear!

  • Collette:

Ear cleaning – even though I know you aren’t really supposed to. As for a fun thing – I made Q-tip skeletons with my kids one year around Halloween.

  • jillian:

I love using them as boogie nose cleaners. My little one get super sticky boogers and Q-tips make it so easy to clean them up

  • Linda L.:

I use them for keyboards and the sewing machine to get into all the nooks and crannies. Also on the faucets and knobs of the kitchen and bathroom sinks.
Where I never use them is in my ears! You should not put anything smaller than your little finger into your ear. Your eardrum is not very far inside your ear and easily punctured leading to infections and possible loss of hearing. They are particulary dangerous for small children who may wiggle around while you are cleaning their ears. It only takes once!!

  • Jo Derouin:

I use them when ever I need to clean in a tiny space.

  • Patricia:

I use them mostly for fixing makeup mistakes or smudging eyeliner. They are also useful for cleaning hard-to-reach places.

  • sandyb:

I use Q-tips for cleaning – EVERYTHING – they go where no sponge has every gone. A q-tip can clean inbetween the cracks on hardwood floors – around windows, oooooooh I could go on and on and on – when I get out the Q-tips when I am cleaning – everyone stays out of my way because I am serious!!!!

I also use them in crafting when I am painting to cleanup edges.

The use for Q-tips is endless!!!!!!!!!! I always turn to them!!!!

    Thank you

  • moho:

I use Q-tips for cleaning out the inset designs on my dining room table. Sometimes I remove the swab and just use the handle to really scrape at it!

  • Donna:

My favorite use is using them to clean my sewing machine when I oil it, but there are so many–one handy little gadget!

  • disgusting but true….cleaning out my dog’s ears.

  • Aubrey M.:

I use them for cleaning up the “gunk” behind the bathroom faucet. It’s hard to reach back there, but some hot water, baking soda, and a Q-Tip makes it fresh and clean!

  • I use them to apply campho-phenique or for other first aid uses.

  • Livivua Chandler:

My favorite way to use q-tips is clean around the base boards inside of my home where all the dust settles in the little cracks

  • Linda:

I love the Container Store and Q-tips……I use Q-tips all time!!!!! Thanks for the chance to win…

  • Sarah H.P.:

Honestly, the thing I use Q-Tips for the most is to clean up the make-up around my eyes. They work like a charm!

  • Baker4Boys:

I mostly use them for cleaning ears, but I also use them with eye makeup remover. I must also say that my husband loves Q-Tips brand q-tips – he will not use any “imposter!” =) Thanks for the great give-away!

  • Beth:

I use them to clean between my keys on my keyboard!

  • I use liquid eyeliner and can never ever get it quite right, so I just dip a q-tip in a little bit of water and run it along my jagged edge and voila! perfect eyeliner. I also like to use it to take off nail polish when it gets stuck in the corners.

  • Christy:

For eyeliner and mascara touch ups!

  • Mami2jcn:

I use Qtips to clean my computer keyboard.

  • Ruth O:

I use Q-tips for pet care: cleaning out cats’ ears, and now to swab the back of one cat’s mouth with medicated liquid…almost never for human ears!
Also to dip in alcohol and clean the ball inside the computer mouse.

  • Crystal:

I do skincare so on top of using them for ears, makeup and polish remover; I also use them for extractions :)

  • Kim:

Qtips are very handy when I find a scratch on my wood furniture. Just dip the Qtip in a little Old English and rub on the scratch.

  • Michele E.:

I have stashes of Q-Tips all over the house–the perfect duster for my computer keyboard, an indispensable tool cleaning the bathroom, and of course for all my beauty needs. I trust the Q-Tip brand too. Once I bought a store-brand–big MISTAKE–I thought the swab would get lost in my ear. (I know it says to never place it into the ear canal but just once can’t hurt right?)

  • Lauren:

I use them to clean my ears after every shower. Can’t stand water in my ears! Also to help clean up my fingers & toes after an at home manicure. The weirdest think I use them for is probably cleaning out my super innie belly button!

  • Crystal:

The most common thing I use them for is cleaning the makeup from under my eyes but I use them for many other things. The most recent was detailing my vehicle. Q-tips are great for getting into those little crevices!!

  • Cecilia:

Painting with my three year old and cleaning out my six year olds pin sites on her fixator.

  • Linda Pawlak:

My mom has used Q-tips for cleaning for years. As a teen I always thought she “took it a bit too far” using the Q-tips, but as an adult I quickly learned that they are the BEST for getting into little spots. So, maybe I AM just like my mother?

  • Jenn:

I love Q-Tps! They are handy for when you’re painting your nails and go a little over, smudging eyeliner, cleaning…oh and drying out your ears (even though you aren’t supposed to) :)

  • EG:

    Sewing machine lint clean-up.

  • Debbie B:

I use Q-tips for many tasks including cleaning my sewing machine, manicure touch-ups, cleaning between all the buttons on the remote and of course ears. Thanks for the offer. Have a great day!

  • Deanna G.:

I like to use them to fix my eye make-up.

  • Trish Falcetti:

I use Q-tips for cleaning in tight or small areas. Around the faucet is one place
