Caught Up Half Way- Bees Knees

I’ve been working on a little catch up for my Bees Knees Quilting Bee.  The first block is for the wonderful, sweet, and talented Trish.

I had purchased the Swoon Pattern a long time ago, but had never made a block.  So I was thrilled that Trish picked this block… and sent me such pretty fabric to sew.

My strawberries are upside down in the middle row… but I decided that perfection is overrated.

For Jodi’s blocks, she asked us to make six blocks from the quick and easy Scrappy Summer Quilt pattern from Allison of Cluck, Cluck, Sew.

It took no time at all to whip up these block and makes me want to get sewing an easy quilt.  I absolutely loved the fabrics.

I am thrilled that Jodi joined our Bee this year.  I’m a big fan of her style and look forward to getting to know her a little, at least virtually, this year.

I still have two more blocks to go to be all caught up for Bees Knees… but at least I’m headed in the right direction.

Be sure to check back tomorrow, I’ve got an awesome giveaway!

Be Joyful Always…

I don’t have any finished projects to share today.

But I am in the home stretch of my “Be Joyful” embroidery, thanks to the few minutes I’ve had, before games and at half time, during a busy soccer season.  One last flower and a few last accents and I’ll be done.

I’ve enjoyed every minute I’ve worked on this embroidery.  I love the admonition… be joyful ALWAYS.  Pray and give thanks.  It’s been like a mantra for me as I’ve stitched.

I’ve made more than my share of mistakes on this embroidery.  Stitching on the essex linen was a bit of a challenge for me, since it likes to send the needle off my line just a fraction.  I’m not an expert embroiderer, so this embroidery has taught me a lot.  I’ve never done more French knots or lazy daisy stitches ever.

I’ve loved it so much that I’ll be starting a new one this week… one as a gift and one for my home.

If you are interested in the pattern, it comes from Amy of nanaCompany.
